Yesterday we discussed the recently revamped Canada Food Guide. Most notably, the new food guide replaces meat with protein based foods. Lean meat is still a part of the food guide, but not featured as prominently as before. Dairy was also not mentioned as heavily in this year's food guide.
Canada is getting a lot of praise for the new food guide, and one organization applauding Canada is a group named ‘EAT’
EAT is a non-profit organization in Oslo, Norway and their goal is to change the global food system in order to promote a healthy population and a healthy planet. They recently published a study in the Lancet about what the world’s population SHOULD be eating, and it helped to inform Canada when they were building the new food guide.
