Chapter 1

🔥🔥 Hot question of the day 🔥🔥

Did last night’s LIT PR debate help you decide how you will vote?

Yes, I’m WOKE now

No, I’m a Dog’s Breakfast

Chapter 2

Who came out victorious after last nights’ electoral reform debate?

Who won in your eyes? Premier John Horgan and BC Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson sparred last night during a televised debate on changing the electoral system in BC. Wilkinson argued PR is too complicated, and Horgan asserted that BC needed to shake up its electoral system. Did any of the leaders score a knockout blow? The pair clashed and spoke over each other a number of times. Each of the leaders got the chance to ask the other a question. But the responses were riddled with interruptions.Despite Wilkinson spending the debate arguing against people voting for proportional representation on this referendum - he hinted he’s not entirely against the idea. Many times he say there should be Citizens Assembly on the issue - and *that* process should come up with what's on the ballot…

This Is Why:

Despite his many flaws, President Donald Trump has maintained a strong evangelical base. Why? How can many Christians continue to support a man who commits so many (by definition) sins?  In this week’s episode of the Global News podcast This Is Why, host and co-producer Niki Reitmayer spoke with several experts about this issue...including a man named Jim Wallis - the former spiritual advisor to both President’s George Bush and Barack Obama. Listen to a sample of this week’s episode on how evangelical Christians are divided on Donald Trump:

Chapter 4

How legions are adapting as they try to stay alive

Across the country this weekend, Canadians are preparing to remember those who have put their lives on the line to defend our nation. But of course, there remains a part of each community that helps serve our veterans all year round: the local Legion.

Nevertheless, they are facing challenges, and some of the Legions we are familiar with here in Vancouver are actually struggling to keep their doors open. Many others are closing up altogether, as older veterans pass on, and the numbers of new members becomes too small.

So how is the Royal Canadian Legion in this province responding to these challenges, and how are they adapting to the changing demographics in the communities they serve?

Guest: David Whittier

Executive Director of the Royal Canadian Legion’s BC and Yukon Command

Chapter 6

SIMI’S LOSER AND WINNER OF THE DAY

Loser

No Loser

Winner

Alexander Archbold of Curiosity Inc.

Alexander is the owner of Curiosity Inc., an Edmonton antique shop, and he  is helping out a homeless man who found a valuable Bambi animation drawing in a dumpster.

Alexander says the man he knew only as Adam had been turned away by a few stores before he showed up in Archbold’s shop with the artwork in September

The man asked for $20 for the find and Archbold agreed.

After he took the drawing out of its dirty frame, Archbold discovered it was an authentic 1937 animation cel from the classic movie and sold it on eBay for $3,700.

Archbold says he spent several days trying to track down Adam and, when the man walked into his store earlier this week, he handed him half the profits.

However, he finally tracked Adam down… and here is how it went…

Archbold says Adam’s $1,600 share won’t be enough to get him back on his feet, so he has also set up a GoFundMe page that has so far raised  over $5,000
