There’s been bad weather and fires in parts of Europe where olives are grown, so there’s been a bad harvest there this year. And that means the cost of olive oil has been shooting up - which could present some temptation for olive oil producers to lower the quality of their products to compensate for that.

So now, the Canadian government is keeping a close eye on olive oil producers to make sure that doesn’t happen.
