Well hello, hello everyone! This is Chats with Ny

Welcome back for another episode, where we’re discussing tips and tricks for all sorts of relationships

Being emotionally available to everyone can be daunting and exhausting.  We know this.  A lot of times we want to be available to our family and friends in their time or times of need.  But what happens when we cannot be there for them?  What happens if we continue to be available?  While our purpose as humans is to connect and to be of service to others we cannot deny that if sometimes we don’t pause to gather ourselves then we cannot be there for those we love and hold dear to our hearts.  The more we put off taking care of ourselves the longer it takes us to recover.  You might notice that before it would take you a day or so to regain your emotional and mental strength after lending your shoulder to someone that was in need; now it takes you a week to recover.  We wonder to ourselves why is that?  What’s changed?  We don’t realize that sometimes we have to tell a loved one “hey, I love you but I can’t be there for you in the capacity you need right now”.  And that’s where emotional consent comes in.

I really hope you all enjoyed today’s episode.  That you took something from today’s topics and can apply it to your daily life.
