Now, we all know about side-shows and freak shows, P.T Barnum and the circus, but what we’re talking about today is different. These were considered ethnological expositions, and they happened in predominantly white societies and countries. The humans in the zoos were always non-white, and many times had some way of living or some quality that was turned into a money-making spectacle and put on display.
