This week Sadie introduces us to an author with a class of works perfect for October. Shirley Jackson is well known for her work of fiction "The Haunting of Hill House" recently made into a Netflix adaptation, along with her best-selling story "The Lottery" gaining lots of attention for its controversial publication. However, long before that, her spooky class of works gained her a reputation of being a particularly clever and talented author. Sadly her personal life was about as haunted as the books she wrote with their own class of personal tormentors, her mother, and husband, being harder to vanquish than the ghosts that riddled her novels. We talk about her early childhood, marriage, career, and her famous body of work.
