Next Episode: The Proposition

On the podcast this week, Steven and Sean are heading out on a father-son road trip in the very fun Jon Favreau film, Chef.

We should probably give a public service announcement right off the bat with this one. Ahem:

Don’t watch this wonderful film on an empty stomach. You’re going to seriously regret it when you see that delicious grilled cheese sandwich being made and have to drop everything to make your own. Or those Cubanos. Or maybe those amazing beignets.

Excuse me for a moment. I need to eat something right now.

Okay, I’m back. Jon Favreau knocks it out of the park with this film as Chef Carl Casper, a man whose drive and determination to always be the best chef ever keeps him from realizing that he’s missing out on the truly important parts of his life. Things like his passion for cooking, having fun in life, and most importantly, his own son. Luckily, all it takes for him to get some real perspective on life is a very public screaming meltdown in the middle of a packed restaurant. Easy as that, right folks?

Good thing for us, though, because after that bit the real meat of this movie is a road trip that Casper takes with his son. It. Is. Delightful. Food is cooked, relationships are strengthened, and memories are made. All while a joyful and very danceable soundtrack plays throughout. We’re big fans of this film and we’re excited to talk about it here.

Oh, and for all who are wondering…

IT’S MOLTEN!
