Dr Filip Kukic started out his athletic career in sprint kayak where he competed from age 9 until 16 when he transferred to competitive rowing for 2 years before making a return to sprint kayak. He competed internationally in both sports representing the Serbian National team.




To enhance his understanding of physical performance, Filip completed both his Bachelor and Master degrees within the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, Belgrade, Serbia. During his time here he served as a student assistant in the department of biomechanics. 




In 2014, he was presented with an opportunity to work for the Abu Dhabi Police department as physical fitness instructor. Over the last 7 years Filip has achieved several milestones including developing the physical fitness standards for the annual fitness assessment of Abu Dhabi police. Alongside colleagues, he developed the physical fitness research branch within his testing section. This also included the development and implementation of 8 weight loss courses for police officers. Recently he developed a trainers course to provide secondary education to officers who wanted to become physical fitness facilitators and instructors.




As well as being a practitioner, Filip has worked extensively to implement research in to his department which included him completing his PhD. This has led to him publishing several papers on officer performance and body composition alongside building collaborative links with researchers within Australia, Canada and the United States.
