ABA: Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy
This is a frequently requested topic and will be covered again on future episodes. For this week, we won't be discussing the controversy of the therapy, but merely providing some background information based on our own personal, lived in experiences. It's important to know that ABA isn't a binary topic and there are many areas to explore. While it has been essential to most of us, it also has pitfalls.
Some tips to keep in mind: Interview your BCBA and other therapists. It's not just what is applied, but how it is applied. No therapy is perfect and they all require your participation and oversight as a parent to be successful.
If you have questions or concerns, we'd love to chat about it with you. Let us know what you think!
