Charlotte Mensah is a legendary Black British award-winning hairdresser, artistic director, author and business owner. She started her training at The London College of Fashion mixing with the likes of fashion designers Stella McCartney and the late Alexander McQueen in the 80’s under the guidance of the late Winston Issacs. She’s since launched her own hair salon named, Hair Lounge on West London’s Portobello Road as well as her own product range and proudly serves some iconic names in the business, music and TV worlds including Erykah Badu, Zadie Smith and June Sarpong.
In this podcast, Charlotte shares her emotive personal life story and career journey which has led her to publish her most recent book, Good Hair, providing useful tips for those with black hair, the history interwoven with her own story.
