This week on the podcast, we welcomed guest Mary Duke, a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, experienced birth Doula, and an advocate for parents of Kentucky. You may know her from her recent viral post that was seen by over 25 million people where she shared her personal rule to never shy away from pictures or the spotlight as a mom.

Mary and her husband live on a 200 year old family farm with her 3 small children and hundreds of cows, hogs, and chickens. Professionally, Mary has educated and supported an estimated 450 birthing parents and their partners, helping increase positive birth outcomes in her state. She is well-known for her advocacy work after helping to form a large grassroots coalition that successfully lobbied to increase safe maternity care options for all Kentucky families. Mary and the Kentucky Birth Coalition are currently back at it as they lobby for freestanding birth center access.
