If this is to be the standard by which, as a society, we judge athletes and influencers, then the place where Venn Johns stands is with his feet placed strongly and firmly at the top.
Born in Oklahoma where he was raised by his grandparents, Alta Geraldine and Jackie Thomas Johns, Venn met with more challenge in his young life than even adults would find difficulty in bearing. His father and lifelong hero, Larry Venn Johns, with whom Venn was very close and to whom Venn gives the credit for everything he has become, passed away tragically when Venn was only 7 years old….
