Rank Choice Voting has been a long-time favorite of policy nerds and democracy activists but hasn’t been implemented on a large scale. But that’s all about to change. Millions of voters in New York City used a rank choice ballot to vote for their next mayor. The results? The more moderate candidate won the Democratic primary in one of America’s most liberal cities.
