Routed in indie/rock with a smattering of blues and a hint of folk, The Jonny Phillips Trio have balanced their combined musical origins to create a sound that is familiar, but also unique. Musically guaranteed to satisfy the soul and body, some intricate songwriting will satiate the mind.
Since the release of ‘Yin’ in early 2022, the JP3 set straight to work on the follow-up EP ‘Yang’ - out on January 13, 2023, and the opposite in every way of their debut EP.
With the 'Small Cluster of Local Gigs' tour firmly locked in across the south coast to promote the release of 'Yang', the JP3 are set to lead us all to what many are calling 'The Great Balancing'.
Recorded betwixt the studio and a camper van, 'Yang' brings the personable more rustic feel of life to fruition - thus restoring balance to the previous 'Yin'. Each of the 3 songs represents either the Future, Present or Past, covering themes of mental health, nostalgia, and being true to yourself.
