Kaluba Patrick Mumba Review:- Mixsensei Mel returns with a mellow midtempo mix filled with some contemporary R&B re-purposed to retro into the 80’s with a, lush and sultry feel! The kicker of the mix is none other than Terry’s two stepper “Wayback”, served with replayed/ chopped portions of Jermaine Jacksons “Don’t take it personal.”

This is followed up with a “Million Dollars”, a track where Terry delivers an earthy vocal performance with an O’Jays/Levert overtone.

Track 3 brings a pad filled and luscious ambience of Diane Marsh’s “I am spoken for”. Fiya! It seamlessly segues into the debonair lounge feel of Roderick Harpers “Make it last forever” before amping it up a notch - whoa! Did I say it’s a mellow mix?

I will have to say that again as MixSensei introduces a remix of Snoh Aalegra’s “Whoa” to the infectious sway of SOS’s “No Ones Gonna Love”. Kim Tavars “Hold on to love” enters into the groove in what feels like an understated way of reminding the listener that the mix is “strictly a vibe thing” before MF Robots feelgood track “Good people” accentuates the mix with their brass tinged head bobber filled with som stylish vocal harmonizing.

To close off the set, MixSensei serves some ear candy with Kelly Price’s redux of Jakie Graham’s “I want to thank you”. Like all good things coming to an end MixSensei chooses to sign off with an effervescent remix of Cool Notes signature “Spend the nite”. However, It is fair to say that there is no need to ask if MixSensei Mel should “come around and mix this right”
