Previous Episode: Come Pray: Kingdom

The Parable of the Good Samaritan starts with the question of, “who is my neighbor?” Jesus then tells this short but profound story. In it Jesus exposes our sin of apathy and even hate towards others. The unlikely hero, the Samaritan, who would have been considered a total outsider to Jesus’ Jewish audience, is the one who does what is right. No one would have considered the man who is beaten and the Samaritan to be neighbors, yet Jesus uses this man to illustrate his point. This attacks the idea of “religious superiority,” racism, and hate. We then find our day-to-day and eternal hope fully in Christ and his kingdom.
