Camille Mackler, director of immigration legal policy at the New York Immigration Coalition, and Sarah Rogerson, professor of law and director of Albany Law School’s Immigration Law Clinic discuss bringing legal services to the more than 300 asylum-seeking refugees abruptly transferred to the Albany County jail in summer 2018 by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Sarah and Camille describe how the task was made possible by the volunteer network of lawyers, service providers, and bar associations that grew out of the January 2017 “travel ban” and Albany Law’s unique partnership with the Albany County jail.

Miranda Warnings is hosted by past NYSBA President David Miranda.
