In 1920, the Winnipeg Falcons hockey team represented Canada at the Olympic Games in Antwerp, Belgium. The rest of the world was not prepared for the Falcon's display of dominance as they breezed to first gold medal ever awarded in hockey. 80 years later, this story of not only hockey, but immigration, bravery, and sacrifice was all but forgotten to Canadians until it resurfaced due to the love of some devoted fans in 2002. This week, we are looking at the incredible story of the Winnipeg Falcons and what makes their team one of the greatest Canadian sports stories of all time.
