It was another day of high volatile trading session with the benchmarks ending flat on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex closed at 50,637.53, down 14.37 points or 0.03%. The Nifty was at 15,208.45, up 10.75 points or 0.07%.
Volumes on the NSE were a little short of recent averages as participants did not want to carry forward a lot of positions ahead of the F&O expiry on Thursday. Among sectors, Consumer Durables and IT gained the most, while Banks and Power fell.
