Investors are cautious ahead of US Federal Reserve meeting this week, awaiting indications as to when the central bank will start withdrawing its monetary stimulus and start raising interest rates eventually. The BSE Sensex ended at 58,490.93, down 524.96 points or 0.89%. The Nifty closed at 17,396.90, down 188.25 points or 1.07%.
