Melissa is joined on the mic by Kara Michelle Liu, co-founder of the blog Sunday Dinner Publishing, which highlights the personal stories of people of color. Kara starts off by telling the incredible life story of Fannie Lou Hamer, a leader in the civil rights movement who fought relentlessly for the voting rights of black people in Mississippi in the 60's. Next, Melissa tells the story of Misty Copeland, a trailblazing ballerina who made history as the first black female Principle Dancer within the prestigious American Ballet Theater.
