An abomination made up of an amalgamation of humanoid corpses, and  spiders has revealed itself to be the source of the inhuman gurgling  noises coming from the mines and has now set itself upon the party in  one of the many chambers of the mines, while a plot involving the  Children of Malice stirs beneath.
