Senator Weiner introduced a bill that would in essence, legalize street prostitution.  It has passed the House and is now in the Assembly Public Safety Committee getting ready for a final vote.  California SB-357 will make it so law enforcement cannot intervene in street prostitution.

This bill, if it passes will be devastating for communities around California and also to the thousands of victims of sex trafficking.  We will return to the days of the "Blade" or "Track" on University (Riverside), Fifth Street (San Bernardino), Holt Blvd (Ontario), Florida Ave (Hemet).  Businesses will be affected.  Pimps will move in from across the US.  Most important, law enforcement will not be able to intervene and assist victims of sex trafficking.
