Previous Episode: Get Thee Behind Me, Satan

Two lessons - a follower of Christ is a servant. A Christian embraces the call of service. To be a nobody. To wash feet when others avoid making eye contact lest the job fall to them. To bear patiently with others, to love with selflessness, to give sacrificially to others. To be unremembered and uncelebrated in this world. It is enough that our Father in heaven smiles. He sees. ----Secondly, we Christian nobodies pay attention to nobodies. We must love as Jesus loved. Who did He give His time and attention to-- He came to seek and save the lost. The weary and heavy-laden. He came for Mary Magdalene, the woman of Samaria with a string of husbands, the small tax collector Zacchaeus, and Peter, the man who seemed to always have the wrong words for any occasion.----Then, Christians, what is a great church-- One whose pews are full of this world-s nobodies - each loved by the nobody sitting next to them and praising God with all their hearts, for knowing me, for paying attention to me, for loving me - an unloveable nobody.
