How to You Can Transition from the Military and Live Your Dreams

In this week's episode of the MilMoney Movement Podcast, co-hosts Lacey Langford and Hank Coleman talk with special guest, Daniel Knopp. Daniel recently transitioned from active duty Air Force to an eight-month sabbatical in an RV touring the country. Now, he is poised to start the second career that he always dreamed of being a financial planner.

We also touch on the sensitive subject of the death of Daniel’s first wife. We talk about how he has turned that tragedy into a positive by helping others with estate planning, navigating the Family Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (FSGLI) life insurance plan, and living his dream by starting his own financial planning practice in the near future. We discuss how collecting the FSGLI benefit actually works and what others might expect out of the process.

Daniel and his wife had the tough conversations early in life as her health was failing. And, she encouraged him to continue pursuing his dreams of leaving the military, traveling, and staring his own Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) business as a financial planner and advisor.
