What does God provide to his ministers to carry out their work. While the Spirit gives different gifts to each individual believer, only one gift changes hearts and strengthens faith—the gospel. That’s the reason why those who serve in the holy ministry are called “ministers of the gospel.” The gospel first gives life to those who serve in ministry, and then those ministers use the gospel in Word and Sacraments to change the lives of others. That gospel of the love of Christ encourages and compels God’s people to live lives of service to one another.
The Bible reading for this message is Acts 11:19-30; 13:1-3.
