In the midst of this pandemic, the possibility and reality of death has been an absolute that confronts us all. Even outside of this pandemic, when a loved one passes away, the reality of death confronts us. What does Jesus have to say about it? We see Jesus through the tear-filled eyes of grieving believers and through the resurrected eyes of a man named Lazarus. Jesus dries our tears today with words of divine comfort and a preview of his ultimate victory over death. Even in the shadow of death, we find the Jesus we need to defeat death.
