In the early centuries of the Christian church, the weeks leading up to Easter were a time of instruction and preparation for God’s people, particularly those who were new to the faith or interested in it. Time would be spent during the 40 days of Lent to instruct and prepare these new believers for the reception of the Holy Supper at the celebration of Easter. During our midweek Lenten worship services, we prepare our hearts for the Feast with the help of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism as we review the basic teachings of God’s Word. In this message, we reviewed the Lord's Prayer.
