06.30.24 - The King

Do men have a role in the modern world to be providers in their homes? What does that look like for the modern man? In this message, we will look at how men can still be providers in various ways and how doing so helps them feel a sense of fulfillment and purpose.

In 2024, what difference does it make if men are strong? Do we even need strength anymore? It’s not like we have to hunt for food or build houses with our hands. So, what is the value of strength in men? In this message, we will look at the warrior who wants to fight inside every man and how Jesus channeled that energy for good.

We’ve heard so much in the last decade or so about toxic masculinity, and we can all think of examples where men go off the rails to a toxic place. But does it have to be that way? What is a better way for us to express masculinity in today’s age? In this series, we will look at the narratives men are given around masculinity and how the New Testament can help men live and lead well in our modern world.

Maybe it points us to deeper truths about how and why we were created. In this message, we will look at the idea of restlessness and how, like a constellation in the night sky, it can point us to God if we pay attention to it.

For thousands of years, constellations in the night sky have been used to tell stories, convey meaning, and help travelers on their way. This series explores how God's design of nature, relationships, trials, and triumphs speak to the reality of God and Biblical truth. Just like the individual stars that make up a constellation, God uses these various aspects of life to give us a fuller picture of Him and our purpose.

Every now and then, it's helpful to reevaluate our commitments. Do we actually want all of the things we signed up for? Are we still "all in" on this routine—this relationship—this commitment? In this message, we wrap up our RE:DO series and look at some very challenging things Jesus said to his followers about commitment as we reconsider our commitments of faith.

But whenever you stand up for what you believe and attempt to remain connected to the people you love, others won’t always like what you do and say. Standing up for who we are and what we believe can help us be less anxious but also burn some relationships with others. The key is to remain emotionally connected to others even when we self-differentiate. In this message, we will examine how Jesus masterfully did this and how we can emulate him in our relationships.

All the data out there shows that we are becoming more and more anxious. We are seeing a massive spike in anxiety in our society, particularly among younger people. What is driving that anxiety, and how can we be non-anxious? In this message, we will look at some of what the scripture says about anxiety and see how Jesus models peace amid stressful situations.

At some point or another, we have all felt like the odd one out, but there is good news for you: Jesus came to earth not just to save the good/wealthy/perfect people but to rescue the poor, the imprisoned, the sick, the marginalized, the weirdos, and the outcasts.
