Nyla Masood is an actor, costume designer, and the co-founder of Dhai Akshar Educational Trust, a holistic after-school NGO in Mumbai where underprivileged kids are taught skills-based courses in languages, maths, and co-curricular activities including dance, theatre, art, and much more.
For her work at Dhai Akshar, Nyla was awarded the 'Radio Nasha Voice of Change' award at the Beti FLO Gr8 Awards, 2018.
She entered the film industry at almost 50, and her career as a costume designer spans award-winning films like Stanley ka Dabba, Umrika, Tu Hai Mera Sunday, Waterbaby, and several others.
She made her acting debut a decade later as the protagonist of The Lift Boy and has also been seen in short roles in other feature films, commercials, and upcoming web series. In her free time, she likes to teach piano, dabble with some doodling, and spend time with her family, pets, and plants.
