Veterans Day - World War I

Larry Freeland is a U.S. Army veteran from the Vietnam War whose father served in WW2 and Korea and a grandfather who served as a doughboy in World War I in Europe. In this episode Larry talks mostly about his grandfather and the stories that he overheard he and his grandfathers veteran friends sharing while playing poker every week.

He also talks about his grandfather protesting following WW1 in Washington D.C. as part of the Bonus Expedition Forces (BEF) and how the President and government at that time turned against the crowds of veterans who protested.

A great listen with it being close to Veterans Day as a reminder of the hardships many veterans who've returned from war have endured.
