Meg is joined by Diane Danzebrink and Kate Nowicki.

This episode is published on World Menopause Day 2019 so who better to have on than the founder of the #MakeMenopauseMatter Campaign, Diane Danzebrink and Kate Nowicki from ACAS who published their Menopause in the Workplace Guidelines today.

Diane is a psychotherapist, menopause expert, wellbeing consultant and she tirelessly campaigns for improved care and support for menopausal women, having personally had a dreadful experience of the menopause. Diane is changing the menopause landscape for me, you and our daughters – listen to understand why, how and what you can do to help.

Kate is Director of Strategic Planning, Performance and Change at ACAS (Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) who provide free and impartial advice on workplace relations and employment law. If you’re an employee or employer you need to be aware of these guidelines and considering menopause in your workplace for economic and legal reasons but also as regards social responsibility… it’s the decent thing to do! It’s clear from data collected that when employers start addressing education for everyone around the menopause, they find they are pushing on an open door… it’s very much wanted and needed.

What’s clear from this episode is that starting conversations around menopause benefits everyone because menopause is not just a women’s issue… if a woman is having a bad time with menopausal symptoms, that will spill over onto those around her – her family, her children, her friends, her managers and her work colleagues of all ages/genders.

We all have a part to play and a way to contribute. So, listen, get informed and take action!
