In this episode of the MedFit Podcast, the amazing David Lyons joins us from Arizona to share his amazing story of determination and resilience. Soon after 47-year-old David experienced paralysis from the chest down, he received a diagnosis that would forever change his life. David, a former Marine and a veteran in the fitness industry, was told he had Multiple Sclerosis, a debilitating disease that attacks the nervous system and beyond. Listen carefully as David discusses his first “bad year,” and how he was able to take control over his MS through a change in mindset, exercise and nutrition. David believes it is his mission to educate the world, specifically fitness professionals, about MS and how to improve the quality of life for those suffering from this disease.  David also discusses winning a prestigious Inspirational Award for Bodybuilding at the age of 50 and the creation of the MS Fitness Challenge, a charity to support and educate those with the disease.

Most recently, David is the co-author of the MS Fitness Specialist Course, a comprehensive course for fitness and medical professionals to learn how to understand the disease and create safe and effective strength and fitness programs for clients with MS.

David is the CEO/Founder at Multiple Sclerosis Fitness Challenge; Executive Producer Lyons Entertainment, President at OptimalBody Personal Fitness, Co-Author, MS Fitness Specialist Course, National Hall of Fame Inductee-Bodybuilder, MS warrior and Former Marine.
