Annunciation (EN)

Today is the first day of the month of May, we meditate on the Annunciation of the angel to Our Lady.

"Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!"

Thus speaks the angel to Mary before announcing to her that she would become the mother of God. She is truly full of grace because she lives in the presence of the One who is the source of all grace. Mary is born in the grace of God, through the Immaculate Conception, and she remains in it throughout her life through the practice of prayer, humility and obedience.

The angel's request to Mary is not easy, but in the midst of uncertainty and fear, Our Lady does not hesitate and gives her all: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word". Our Lady's yes at the Annunciation is only possible because it is not an isolated act; on the contrary, her yes was practised throughout her life.

We too need to cultivate the virtues and practise saying yes to God in our daily lives in order to be able to give Him our whole lives.

This month we ask our heavenly Mother to fill us with grace and teach us to walk towards the Lord.
