This week on #MaxOutTime #EducationReboot: Seattle Academy Director of Admissions and Bridging Legacies Across Campuses (BLAC) Founder Jonathan Lee discusses how the pandemic has exacerbated the independent school admissions process.

A native of Alexandria, Virginia, and graduate of Episcopal High School, Jonathan’s LLC aims to make independent schools like Episcopal and Seattle Academy more diverse through networking and consulting across the country.

Inspired by the Black Lives Matter Movement and predominantly white institutions’ reckoning with racism in 2020, Jonathan’s roles as an administrator and founder are facing unprecedented challenges this school year. Not only did COVID-19 impact diversity initiatives and the way schools operate, but it also affected Jonathan on a personal level. He opens up about his late mother Sheila’s battle with the virus plus much more.
