Welcome to part eight of our women of steel series. It’s no secret that the internet has become a dangerous place, especially for our children. Cyber bullying is a reality that most parents don’t even know how to comprehend, let alone deal with. Let’s not even get into the dangers of child pornography and the dark web. Thank god we have heroes (or “heroines”) like Rianette Leibowitz. She’s helping South Africans protect their children from the terrifying realities that the internet presents. As the founder of SaveTNet Cyber Safety, her only goal is to help us save our children’s lives. Whether she is talking to school assemblies or corporate keynotes, Rianette is fighting for what she calls “the amazing-ness of cyberspace”, helping us navigate relationships between digital and physical space. We can all learn something from this. Even if you don’t have children, you may know someone who may desperately need this information. It could literally save a life. So let’s not waste any more time. Get into it.
