Welcome to part 5 of the women of steel series powered by the Matt Brown Show. In this episode we are going to take a deep dive into what is arguably one of the biggest technology revolutions in the world of business today, and it’s called the Cloud. Now, the term “the Cloud” has been coined for some time now, but if you are not actively playing in the space it is easy to get left behind in recent market developments. So to put the size of the Cloud market in perspective, Microsoft reported earnings for its fourth fiscal quarter of 2019, which included revenue of $33.7 billion, with $11.4 billion of that being driven from Cloud related sales - that’s $11.4 billion made in 12 weeks and an increase of 19% compared to the previous 12 weeks. But what is driving this growth and why are businesses of all sizes flocking to the Cloud? To get the answer I turned to Natasha Bezuidenhout, the Microsoft Brand Executive at First Distribution, Africa’s leading Cloud distributor. Natasha is one of the leading women in tech in Africa and is at the spearhead of the Cloud revolution currently underway in Africa.
