She’s “somebody’s daughter”: helping victims of sexual abuse reclaim their dignity

Greg Gutzler of DiCello Levitt & Gutzler is a trial lawyer and victims’ rights advocate with a stellar track record of results in high-stakes litigations. One of Greg’s passion projects is representing victims of sexual abuse and sex trafficking, helping them to find the courage to face their abusers and hold them accountable for their actions. Recently, Greg obtained an injunction in a California federal court against alleged sex trafficker Daniel Fitzgerald (known as “DannyHollywoodHomes”). And he also is one of the attorneys representing victims who have filed claims in the Southern District of New York that corroborate a sex trafficking conspiracy among Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard, his corporate entities, and various corporate officers and directors that spans five decades and at least four countries.

Although an uphill battle, Greg continues to fight the good fight against sexual abusers. Greg understands that each of these victims, mostly women, is somebody’s daughter and/or somebody’s mother, and he works extraordinarily hard to make sure their voices are heard. He credits his victims for their bravery in coming forward and telling their stories, which in turn allow him to use his law degree to help these survivors reclaim their dignity and their lives. But that isn’t enough for Greg – he is committed to making progress and pushing for positive change to shift societal norms away from victim-blaming and more toward accountability, where abusers are held responsible for their actions and where witnesses to these horrific crimes are upstanders, rather than bystanders.
