We've come a long way, Movieciders! 75 "official" episodes, plus some bonus ones. To mark the 75th episode, we decided to have some fun. We recorded a special commentary track to be played while watching THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. Directed by Frank Darabont, and starring Tim Robbins, and Morgan Freeman.
That's right, listeners! Now YOU can have the delightful experience of trying to watch a movie while three film geeks talk throughout the whole movie! It's two and a half hours of pure obnoxiousness in conjunction with a modern movie classic!
So here's the deal for those of you who have never done one of these. Get yourself a copy of THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, be it dvd, blu ray, laserdisc, vhs, whatever. Hit play. You'll hear a little music. When you get to the CASTLE ROCK logo, and the music crescendo's (just before lyrics are heard), you're going to hit PAUSE (this is about 12 seconds into the movie, and the lighthouse is "looking" over at the 'K' in "Castle Rock"). Now, play the Mass Moviecide Commentary Episode, wait for our signal, and hit PLAY on the movie. You'll be synced up with us and voila! Podcast and Listener become one for a glorious 2 hours! Every now and then, you'll hear some of the movie audio playing on the podcast so that you can make sure you're still synced up.
