News Break 1: 12:51 to 14:23

Let’s take a brief break from the music for some music news.

The Mustang guitar that Kurt Cobain played in the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video was sold, for much more than expected at the Music Icons auction. The left-handed instrument with the Competition Lake Placid blue finish was expected to go for $600,000 plus, but ended up selling for $4.5 million. Kurt said in one of his final interviews with Guitar World, that “I’m left-handed, and it’s not very easy to find reasonably priced, high-quality left handed guitars. But out of all the guitars in the whole world, the Fender Mustang is my favorite. I’ve only owned two of them.” Jim Irsay Indianapolis Colts CEO made the winning bid for the instrument.  Cobain’s family plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from the auction to Jim Irsay mental health awareness organization, Kicking the Stigma.

In other news, Hï Ibiza, one of the world's most well-known clubs, is ringing in a new era with a special line-up of resident DJs and special events. David Guetta, Morten, and award-winning actor-turned-DJ, Idris Elba; will all be performing during the 18-week residency, which begins on June 3 and runs through September 30.

Not many people realize this but, Idris has been passionate about music long before he became an actor. In his younger days, he used to DJ at London's underground circles. Now, he's bringing his talents to Club Hï for an unforgettable experience.

That’s it for music news, now let’s get back to the music
