Adams Story:October 18, 2022, I was in a bad motor scooter accident. I woke up 3 days later in a hospital with both legs snapped, left elbow broken, fractured ribs, left side of my face fractured, broken neck, broken lower back, collapsed lung, and needed 4 blood transfusions. The doctors prepared me to be in the wheelchair for the rest of my life; if I were to get out, I would need to walk with assistance. My left leg has a titanium rod from my knee to my ankle. My right leg has a titanium plate to connect the bones. My left elbow has a titanium plate and my neck surgery involved the fusion of 3 disks. Within 7 weeks I was able to walk without assistance painfully. 8 months after my accident, I am currently training to compete in triathlons.
