This week I’m talking to Emma Chasen, Cannabis Educator and Industry Consultant. Emma is on a mission to educate people on the science of Cannabis so they can take charge of their own healing.  Emma has degree in Medicinal Plant Research from Brown, has Coordinated Clinical Oncology trials with the Brown University Oncology Research Group, is formerly the General Manager & Director of Education for Farma and was named Portland’s Best Budtender of 2016. Emma also launched the Core Science Certification program with Sativa Science Club both online and in the Portland community. Emma helps brands develop educational marketing collateral and educational programs to further elevate their brand presence in a competitive industry. She also helps cannabis businesses with business organization and creation of internal on-boarding programs to set them up for success in the competitive adult use market.

In our chat, Emma and I dig into her really cool family tie to Penne alla vodka; The origin of her love for plants and how that led to her formal medicinal plant research; How she jumped into the world of cannabis and became portland’s best budtender of 2016; Why Emma believes relationship management is crucial to success in any area; Why the industry needs to stop perpetuating indica/sativa binary and instead focus on chemotypes to determine effect; She talks about the new online & in person on-boarding training she’s created for budtenders and the retail community (so awesome!); And lets us in on her new cannabis radio show, her current CBD experiment and more!
