Week 3 of Films for music fans shifts us to the perspective of the promoter with 1991's The Commitments.
The film follows Jimmy Rabbitte's self-proclaimed destiny to bring soul back to Ireland as he recruits a rag-tag group of struggling musicians and struggling people in an effort to have his band become Ireland's next big band.
While on the journey, Jimmy must learn to tackle the hardest of manager obstacles even at this early in his career, including intimidating loan sharks, band in-fighting, and most of all, his own hubris.
