Between 1997 and 2010, Ruth was a member of UK parliament, holding several government positions including Secretary of State for Education and Skills. In 2004, she became the youngest woman ever to be part of the UK Cabinet. After leaving parliament, Ruth held leadership roles at HSBC Asset Management and St Mary’s University, Twickenham.
