Untreated drug and alcohol use contributes to tens of thousands of deaths every year. Substance abuse effects more than just the person who uses, but their friends and family as well. During this episode of Banner Health’s Making the Rounds, we are going to be addressing the stigma that surrounds addiction.
Today's guests are Dr. Elisa Gumm, Program Director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship, at the University of Arizona in Tucson, and Dr. Christopher Luke Peterson, Associate Program Director with the Addiction Medicine program for the University of Arizona in Phoenix.
