The heart conducts a symphony of electric impulses. A normal, healthy heart beats 60 to 100 times per minute. However, when irregularities emerge – as seen with atrial fibrillation – the once seamless harmony gives way.

During episode three of Making the Rounds’ “Failure is not an option” series, Dr. Aadhavi Sridharan discusses the importance of diagnosing atrial fibrillation (Afib), common electrophysiology issues surrounding AFib, and how it’s essential to determine the specific type and duration of the arrhythmia, as such a diagnosis has a significant impact on the patient's symptoms and overall quality of life.

Dr. Sridharan is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Banner - University Medicine Tucson and assistant professor of medicine at the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center specializing in cardiac arrhythmia management including ablations and devices.
