Late last year I was a proud partner/affiliate of the Todd Herman’s The 90 Day Year, and I thought I would spend some time for this week’s Maven Mini talking about what I learned while being a successful JV partner. This was the first time for me where I was in a partnership/affiliate position. So, in case this is something you’ve been thinking about, or are anxious to know more about, then I’m going to dive into what really I believe, again, are some of the attributes to a successful partnership.

Well, first of all, it all starts with a partnership you believe in. Don’t get involved in something you don’t care about! You want to warm people up on the service and the only way you can do that is by having gone through it yourself!

There is really no need for you to sell anything if you already believe in the product. Support your audience through the process and help them through the challenges that they’re going through! Answer their questions or even get on the phone with them if they need it. Just by being there and adding value, you are well on your way to creating a great experience for them.

This support works before the make-the-plunge into this new program that you’re promoting as, well as after. Be there for your peeps! Make sure you have a follow-up process for the people that did sign up to your partnered program.

And finally, please make sure that there is some sort of alignment with these folks. Don’t let them make a bad purchase, especially if you know the program won’t be a good fit for them!
