A few weeks ago a question came into our Instagram Account:
"Asking people to take off their shoes: Big deal or no?"

As we posted our quick response, it opened up a big dialogue which revealed big feelings about the topic. What we found is that there are two sides to the 'shoes in the house' conversation and neither is right or wrong! Yet, it's worth diving into!

For many reasons a host may want guests to remove their shoes. In the same way, for many reasons a guest may feel more comfortable leaving their shoes on. In this conversation we will be talking through understanding why/how each stance holds on to their value and how to better understand the other side.

While it seemed a bit...silly to cover an episode entirely focused on shoes, these conversations are quite possibly amongst the most valuable! So often in hospitality offenses come through the small  details and have the possibility of being a wedge that severs a potential relationship.

I don't want shoes to create relational divide on my watch. SO, Let's talk about it to be better prepared for this situation and develop a deeper understanding for both sides in the process!
