Today I want to talk about why we need to stop misleading potential clients online. I know that sounds controversial and I’m not here to shame anyone, but the truth is, if no one talks about these things, then nothing changes, and I frequently see misleading endorsements being used online to attract people to a business or service.   I’m not talking about outright lying, because we know that’s morally wrong, but I see a lot of subtle ways clients are repeatedly misled that have never felt right to me, so I want to shine some light on them today.

What You'll Learn In This Episode:

- What the ‘pay-to-play’ model is, how common pay-to-play offers are in the online industry and how they contribute to misleading potential clients.

- The process behind some business awards and why I’m proudly not an ‘award-winning business coach.

- Marketing strategies to reach number one in the book or podcast charts can make for a great strapline, but on closer inspection, if these claims aren’t legitimate it diminishes clients trust.

- My experience of being asked to financially contribute to be a part of a TV show, and why it wasn’t the right decision for me, despite its appeal.

- That it’s possible to make money and have a successful business whilst putting morals first.
