Our special guest today is “two-time Emmy nominee,” Playwright, Director, Producer and Film Maker, Laterras Whitfield. Laterras is revolutionizing the Gospel with his innovative and creative productions that are designed to bridge the gap between the urban theater market and Broadway by focusing on content and elevating production values. His main goal is ministry…and he makes no apologies about it…giving audience members an opportunity to “accept Christ” through altar calls that he conducts at the end of each performance. His plays have featured some well-known talent like R &B singers Kenny Lattimore & Chante Moore…and Tichina Arnold & Carl Payne (from the popular sitcom “Martin”) …all performing in the hit play, “What Men Don’t Tell.” “Tell It To the Judge, a play written for TV personality, Judge Greg Mathis, starred Ralph Tresvant from the 80’s R&B boy band, “New Edition.” But Laterras is much more than a playwright. He is an “overcomer! Having been “tried in the fire” by growing up in a “tumultuous home,” engaging in “illegal activities” and making a series of bad choices in his teen years, he has emerged as “Refined Silver” which is the title of today’s segment. He is truly an “ambassador for Christ”…bringing hope and healing to those who need it most.
